Position Overview

The Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust is looking to recruit a full-time Mechanical Maintenance Specialist.

The salary range for this position is between £28,407 and £34,581.

The Estates team is in search of a dedicated individual to manage a diverse array of mechanical systems and equipment across the Trust's extensive portfolio of facilities.

The ideal candidate will possess enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and exceptional interpersonal abilities. A completed apprenticeship or equivalent training in a mechanical field to at least Level 3 is required. Candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience in maintaining various engineering systems and services.

The Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package, including 27 days of annual leave, on-call compensation, public holidays, and participation in the NHS Pension scheme.

The successful applicant must be willing to engage in an on-call schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the Operational Estates Management team to deliver Reactive, Planned Preventative, and Scheduled Maintenance services across Trust properties.

2. Ensure that all operations comply with statutory regulations and standards.

3. Conduct routine maintenance on building services and mechanical systems throughout the Trust.

4. Interpret technical instructions and drawings to execute tasks effectively.

5. Assess equipment and materials necessary for mechanical services.

6. Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance across the Trust.

7. Execute basic electrical connections and disconnections as part of mechanical and electrical system maintenance.

8. Assist Estates Officers with building surveys and inspections, providing advice on appropriate materials and equipment.

9. Estimate small-scale projects and maintain building and site services.

10. Identify and address health and safety concerns related to mechanical systems and general building operations.

11. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and controls for heating, air conditioning, lifts, and medical equipment.

12. Investigate and test fire alarm and security systems as required.

13. Carry out installations of mechanical services and conduct testing of mechanical appliances.

14. Support Estates Officers in project surveys, estimations, and coordination.

15. Assist in sourcing information from suppliers and ordering necessary spare parts.

16. Help organize and prioritize daily requisitions.

17. Participate in the on-call rota and associated duties.

18. Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety regulations, procedures, and risk assessments.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Good general education (e.g., GCSE English & Maths A-C)
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical Level 3 qualification
  • Current IEE Electrical Regulations knowledge

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven engineering skills and experience
  • Ability to work on and maintain a variety of building services and equipment
  • Clear and courteous communication skills
  • Methodical and logical approach to tasks
