About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Base Materials Ltd. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day programming, setting, and operation of our CNC milling machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Programme, set, and operate 3 and 5-axis CNC machinery to produce and finish syntactic materials.
- Adhere to production schedules and standard operating procedures to produce product in line with quality specifications, on time.
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times, taking responsibility for the safety of self and others, reporting concerns or hazards immediately.
- Correct any errors in job programmes or setting at the earliest possibility, minimising waste and re-work and checking the new settings reliably produce Grade A product.
- Carry out quality assurance checks and report any imperfections.
- Ensure continuous monitoring and review of operations and product to ensure quality assurance.
- Carry out housekeeping and basic maintenance duties.
- Liaise with the Head of Special Projects and Head of Design and Engineering to create job programmes to specification.
- Use lift trucks to move unfinished materials and finished goods around the facility as necessary.
- Use basic computer systems to track stock levels and product lifecycle data.
- Report any incidents of non-conformance to the Line Manager.
- Maintain records in line with audit requirements and established procedures.
- Comply with all technical documentation.
- Ensure the department is at the cutting edge of CNC machining capability, including fixturing, tooling, and software utilisation.
- 3+ years of online CNC programming, setting, and operating experience.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings.
- Desirable: working to ISO9001 and ISO45001 standards.
