Key Responsibilities:
- Advise business stakeholders on Data Protection Impact Assessments for new and revised processing of personal data, focusing on risk assessment and control implementation.
- Collaborate with Information Security and Procurement teams to advise on third-party management where personal data is involved.
- Assist in investigating, resolving, and remediating data protection-related incidents.
- Report outcomes to the Group Data Protection Manager and, where necessary, the Data Protection Officer.
- Review and challenge data protection-related documents, including Data Protection Impact Assessments, Information Asset Registers, and Fair Processing Notices.
- Monitor the completion and accuracy of Information Asset Registers.
- Review high-risk supplier contracts identified through the Data Protection Impact Assessment process.
- Escalate data protection risks and issues to the Group Data Protection Manager.
- Review business-reported management information and risk assessments, challenging their accuracy, conclusions, and appropriateness of actions.
- Create Group-level management information to aid oversight and trend analysis.
Requirements:
- Expertise in national and European data protection laws, including in-depth knowledge of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
- Experience in data protection within a Financial Services environment is preferred.
- Understanding of technical data security measures available to the business.
