Are you a compassionate and flexible individual dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students with varying needs? GSL Education is currently looking for committed individuals to join our team as Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistants in Leicester.
This SEN institution accommodates a diverse array of requirements, fostering a supportive atmosphere for students facing numerous challenges. The role involves assisting students with physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism spectrum conditions (ASC), moderate learning difficulties (LD), including dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as those with visual and auditory impairments, and Down syndrome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized support for students with physical disabilities, including assistance with personal care and mobility.
- Facilitate the educational and personal growth of students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
- Assist students with autism spectrum conditions (ASC) in enhancing their communication and social skills.
- Support students with moderate learning difficulties (LD) such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
- Modify teaching strategies to accommodate the unique needs of students with visual and auditory impairments.
- Create a nurturing environment for students with Down syndrome, promoting their overall development.

Additional Information:
This position involves supporting students with a broad spectrum of needs, offering a rewarding and varied experience.
Some students may require personal assistance, including feeding and mobility support.
Candidates should be comfortable with maintaining a structured routine for the benefit of the students.
A background in drama is advantageous, as the role may involve engaging students in a playful and imaginative manner.
