Job Summary:
Belmont Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Asset Specialist Lead to join our team on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work closely with Somerset Council to lead a team of Asset Surveying professionals and data analysts in undertaking condition and compliance surveys of the Council's housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of Asset Surveying professionals and data analysts to ensure the effective delivery of condition and compliance surveys.
- Asset Management: Lead the provision of building surveying and asset management activities for the HRA Housing Assets, including client leadership, project feasibility, scoping, design, and component specification.
- Stock Condition Surveys: Ensure stock condition surveys and validation surveys are undertaken to facilitate accurate work programmes and updated business plans.
- Risk Management: Manage risks relating to building fabric or structural failure through diagnosis and response to emerging issues.
- Options Appraisal: Lead the options appraisal of assets to ensure Value for Money (VfM) and identify options for potential disposal.
- Energy Assessments: Undertake Energy Assessments to ensure accurate data recording and energy performance certificates are made available.
- Procurement: Work with the procurement team to ensure Value for Money, component specification, and standardization, and compliance with Financial Regulations.
- Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS): Ensure HHSRS checks are undertaken, and any actions implemented.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building surveying and asset management, with experience in leading teams and managing complex projects. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
