Job Overview

The Procurement Manager position at Colt Technology Services is a pivotal role responsible for orchestrating procurement activities across various functional teams, with a primary emphasis on the IT category, while also overseeing Security, Marketing, and HR categories within the European Region. This role necessitates effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders across multiple regions, including India and Japan.

They will collaborate with stakeholders to establish a steady flow of tendered products and services, ensuring that procurement processes are executed efficiently and securely, supported by robust contract documentation. Reporting to the Regional Head of Procurement, the Procurement Manager will be tasked with the tactical management and creation of effective procurement documentation that aligns with the company's Procurement Policy. Additionally, they will contribute to the development of cost plans, identify cost reduction opportunities, and explore alternative supplier strategies as part of their analysis of supply requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to identify valid business needs, develop procurement strategies, and pinpoint cost-effective solutions.
  • Drive the DCS Procurement function towards a more strategic focus by developing best practices and effective tracking and reporting mechanisms.
  • Formulate effective commercial strategies for tendering, including drafting appropriate documentation and leading tendering processes to secure value for money while managing risk.
  • Conduct thorough and effective commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal operating costs and benefits for the organization, in compliance with the Procurement Policy.
  • Assist stakeholders in adopting a Total Cost of Ownership perspective on procurement activities and illustrate the advantages of effective procurement.
  • Provide expert procurement guidance and support to colleagues within the organization.
  • Oversee the sourcing process from need identification (supporting stakeholders in defining specifications) through supplier selection to contract finalization, in collaboration with relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Evaluate potential bidders through RFI/RFQ processes to ensure sustainable procurement and commercial best practices are integrated into the tendering and supplier selection processes.
  • Manage RFx activities using SAP/Ariba.
  • Promote procurement governance and best practice policies for effective management of operating and capital expenditures.
  • Review and approve Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in Ariba.
  • Effectively navigate ambiguity and a fast-paced environment, swiftly defining procurement requirements with key stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage a Supplier Relationship Management program, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and other contractual obligations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated operational experience in procurement, with a comprehensive understanding of the full procurement life cycle, from market research and sourcing to tender preparation, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Preferably possesses knowledge of the data center or telecommunications industry sectors.
  • Proven track record in strategic procurement, capable of building and executing robust operational plans.
  • Practical experience in creating and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Ability to manage project workloads through practical planning and effective management of cost reductions.
  • Proficient in managing fluctuating workloads and balancing conflicting priorities.
  • Experience working in a team environment, with the ability to influence and motivate complex, matrix teams both virtually and directly.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both internally and externally with suppliers.
  • Adept at fostering a win-win environment with suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) frameworks and the ability to leverage them effectively.
  • Experience in leading and delivering procurement strategies through virtual multifunctional teams.
