Fire Alarm Service Engineer Job Description

Just Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our team based in Haverhill. As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and service fire alarm systems, ensuring they are fully operational and meet industry standards.
  • System Testing: Conduct routine testing, inspection, and fault diagnosis on fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with fire safety regulations (BS 5839 or relevant local standards).
  • On-call Support: Participate in an on-call rota for emergency repairs and service calls outside normal working hours.
  • Training & Development: Stay updated on industry standards and participate in ongoing training to maintain and improve technical expertise.
Requirements:
  • Essential: Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer or similar role, thorough knowledge of fire alarm systems, familiarity with relevant fire safety standards, and a valid driver's licence.
  • Desirable: Certification in fire alarm systems, experience with other fire protection systems, and electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

This is a field-based role with travel to customer sites, and occasional work at heights or in confined spaces may be required.
