Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and care to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, maintaining a safe and secure environment for service users.
  • Promote positive behavior and support individuals in achieving their goals and aspirations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards, respecting the privacy and dignity of service users.

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check (child and adult).
  • Mandatory training in the following areas:
    • Safeguarding Adults and Children
    • Moving and Handling (People and Objects)
    • Infection Prevention and Control
    • GDPR and Data Protection Awareness
    • Health and Safety Awareness
    • First Aid Awareness
    • Equality and Diversity
    • Mental Capacity Act / DoLS

Optional Training (Preferred but not Required):

  • Nourish Training
  • Food Hygiene and Safety
  • COSHH
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • PEG Feeding
  • Immediate Life Support
  • Managing Challenging Behaviour
  • Epilepsy Awareness and Buccal Administration
  • Dysphagia/Safe Swallowing
  • Stoma and Diabetes Experience
  • Mental Health and Dementia Awareness

Applicants should provide their recent DBS check, CV, and all mandatory certificates as mentioned. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of learning disabilities and the ability to provide high-quality support and care to individuals with these needs.
