Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and Speech and Language needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Autism and Speech and Language needs. You will work closely with the teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and language acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Autism and Speech and Language needs.
  • Behaviour and pastoral support for students.
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Build robust and effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Deliver interventions to students with Speech and Language needs in small groups and 1:1.
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures.
  • Personal care support for students.
Requirements:
  • No previous experience is required, but a passion for working with children with Autism and Speech and Language needs is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener.
  • Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
  • Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.

  • Competitive daily rate of £80-£85.
  • Term-time only, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm.

Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
