We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to become a vital part of our team.

Curtiss-Wright is in search of a Quality Assurance Specialist to enhance our expanding group at our advanced facility. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing new supplier assessments, validating new components, and approving new initiatives while addressing issues related to supplier components returned by clients or production, including conducting root cause analysis and problem-solving.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reviews of data packs and shipping documentation, perform source inspections, and execute actual inspections as necessary.
  • Analyze inspection/test failure and rejection reports, ensuring that the quality inspection team adheres to test plans and procedures consistently. Communicate any unusual or concerning findings to the Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Inspection teams to assess and resolve quality issues. Identify opportunities for test/inspection enhancements and work with teams to implement acceptable quality levels.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and product process documentation as part of a continuous improvement initiative.
  • Perform system and process audits.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and process plans, assisting Quality Engineering, Quality Inspection, and Manufacturing in developing inspection plans.
  • Support the evaluation of new suppliers, validation of new parts, and approval for new projects while addressing issues related to supplier components returned by clients or production.
  • Follow up with suppliers and monitor/support their product/process quality control system improvements through audits, training, and project management.
  • Assist in overseeing site security control and update security procedures and related documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Your Qualifications:

  • 3-8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Familiarity with Quality Regulations, particularly ISO9001, and experience with AS9100D; knowledge of CAA/EASA Part 21G or Part 145 is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and updating Quality Manuals, Procedures, and other Quality documentation.
  • Knowledge of Quality Process Control, including the creation and updating of various Quality documents such as check-sheets and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in Quality IT systems, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems like SAP.
  • Experience in Quality Improvement and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and present Quality metrics.
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, including supplier scorecards, portals, audits, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of internal and external auditing processes.
  • Familiarity with Quality tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, FAIRs, APQP, and 8D methodologies.
  • Experience with Quality & New Product Introduction (NPI) phases, including prototype, preproduction, and mass production.
