Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the academy's premises, including grounds, buildings, and facilities. This will involve a range of tasks, including:

  • Carrying out daily inspections of the grounds and buildings to identify any maintenance issues or hazards
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, repairs, and replacements
  • Coordinating with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and effective maintenance
  • Developing and implementing maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the academy's facilities are well-maintained and safe
  • Providing support and assistance to staff and students as needed

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Sound training in one or more of the following: plumbing, general and ground maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems
  • Basic knowledge of the operation of heating, ventilating systems and common causes of malfunctions
  • Knowledge of maintenance and security systems and procedures
  • Understanding of appropriate cleaning methods and standards
  • Experience of working in a school or educational establishment with children and young people
  • Considerable DIY experience
