Role Summary

As a Package Manager at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in delivering world-class engineering support services to the Royal Navy. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the planning, estimating, delivery, close-out, and archiving of planned Fleet Time Support Period (FTSP) work packages, unplanned work (UPW), Alterations & Additions (A&As), Deployed Support Periods (DSP), and Docking Essential Defect Survey (DEDS) periods.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the overall management of programmed and un-programmed work packages, producing schedules and working with relative stakeholders including the Class Output Management team (COM) and ships' staff.
  • Chair and facilitate FTSP service provider meetings, including take-on, plan of the day, weekly progress, and close-out meetings.
  • Identify and de-conflict other work on board to ensure the success of the FTSP/UPW/DEDS/DSP & A&A's without detriment to the whole ship's programme.
  • Sub-contractor management and liaison with customers and suppliers.

Requirements

  • An understanding of project management principles (Prince 2 / APM / Lean Six Sigma).
  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, real-time decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills are required, along with the drive and enthusiasm to work in a challenging role within a busy and highly successful team.
  • Computer literacy skills essential, Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • An understanding of contracts and financial controls (desirable).
  • An HNC/HND in an Engineering/Technical subject, or equivalent experience in an engineering role.
