Railway Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railway Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Harsco Rail. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on our Stoneblower Fleet, ensuring maximum machine availability and supporting our Field Service Manager in achieving desired targets and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet to exceed performance targets and KPIs
- Report any defects found on machines and carry out repairs within required competency level for the role
- Ensure planned maintenance duties are completed in line with company policies and procedures and work instructions
- Support the Field Service Manager in providing inspection information as required
- Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S
- Inform Field Service Manager of any issues or problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control
- Operate machines for maintenance purposes, as required
- Ensure regularly updated and compliant with company policies and procedures
- Awareness of company communication
- Be responsible for the care of company assets
- Flexibility to travel and lodge as required by the company
- To undertake training as required
- Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems
- Comply with the Company Code of Conduct
- To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions at work
- Comply with all Statutory and Company Policies, Procedures, and Standards
- Inform your line manager, supervisor, or health and safety representative of any unsafe occurrences
- Work closely with the Field Service Manager to raise safety issues and support safety initiatives
- Ensure safety regulations are adhered to
- Responsible for adhering to all safety instructions and guidance whilst completing Stoneblower maintenance or repair
- Ensuring competence and fitness to undertake activities designated as safety-critical work
- Comply with company standards and procedures relevant to the undertaking of Stoneblower Maintenance
- Observe safety objectives issued
- Participate in safety tours and planned inspections as required
- Contribute to the delivery of company occupational health and welfare, safety, and environmental improvement plans
- Only undertake work for which you have been trained and (if required) certified competent
- To comply with Risk Assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
- Maintain and utilise all PPE provided by the employer
- Co-operate with your employer on health, safety, and environment
- Make safe any unsafe conditions where practical and challenge unsafe work practices
- Report all, and assist with investigating relevant accidents, incidents, and near misses
