Senior Payroll Administrator

Portfolio Payroll is seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team on a part-time basis. As a key member of the payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll data.
Key Responsibilities:- Payroll Data Management: Ensure all payroll data, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, and other adjustments are accurately communicated to the payroll bureau.
- Payroll Data Collection: Collect and verify payroll data from the time and attendance system, ensuring appropriate authorizations are in place to submit to the external bureau in accordance with the payroll schedule.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Payroll Reporting: Review payroll reports from the bureau and communicate any changes or corrections needed in a timely manner.
- Pension Scheme Management: Manage the pension scheme to ensure up-to-date data is maintained on the pension site.
- Employee Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding pension deductions and contributions.
- Payroll Administration: Prepare, review, and distribute payroll reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Internal Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal reporting deadlines.
- Payroll Query Resolution: Resolve payroll queries in collaboration with the external bureau and Payroll Assistants, liaising directly with employees and third parties where necessary.
- System Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and updating of payroll systems.
- Financial Management: Maintain the finance system in relation to the payroll ledger with accurate payroll postings and ensure balance sheets are reconciled in line with the payroll processing deadlines.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with operational and external stakeholders.
- External Bureau Liaison: Liaise and maintain a strong relationship with the external bureau to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
- Payroll Experience: Previous experience in a busy high-volume payroll environment.
- Payroll Legislation Knowledge: Strong payroll legislation knowledge and ability to complete manual calculations.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge to assist in dealing with complex payroll queries effectively.
- Finance System Experience: Experience working on a finance system, completing postings, reporting, and reconciling balance sheets.
- Numerical Skills: Good numerical skills and a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Stakeholder Management: Stakeholder management skills.
- Customer Service: Good customer service skills, including verbal and written experience.
- Excel Skills: Strong Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables.
