Opportunity Overview

We invite you to become a part of our Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. Assystem presents a remarkable opportunity for Systems and Senior Systems Engineers to join our growing Fusion and Modular Nuclear (FMN) division.

Your Role

As pioneers in the design and advancement of innovative technologies, you will engage in various state-of-the-art projects focused on developing Nuclear Fusion technologies aimed at achieving net-zero power generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop or oversee the creation of essential documents such as operational concepts, functional and system architectures, compliance statements, and verification and validation plans.
  • Support integrated technical management by addressing technical and project risks, assumptions, and design configurations.
  • Implement systems engineering best practices to enhance the systems engineering capabilities within the engineering team.
  • Provide progress updates and resource recommendations to the Project Lead Engineer (Systems and Integration).
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Systems Engineering or related technical disciplines.
  • A background in nuclear fusion, the nuclear sector, or other regulated industries such as thermal power generation or oil and gas.
  • In-depth knowledge of power plant design, UK codes, standards, regulations, and operational requirements.
  • Experience with Health and Safety, Quality Assurance standards, CDM regulations, and NBS.
  • Comprehensive systems engineering experience throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial proposals to production release.
  • A proven track record of coordinating a skilled technical team to deliver products that meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • An understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
