This pivotal role focuses on enhancing the commercial viability of the centre while overseeing sales, marketing, and the operational and financial efficiency of the facility.

Oxford Innovation Space is renowned for its innovation centres, which serve as flexible workspaces for a diverse community of entrepreneurs, creatives, and businesses. We provide essential support services to startups, rapidly growing SMEs, investors, and public sector entities.

Role Responsibilities:

The Centre Manager will collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and lead a dedicated team including an Assistant Centre Manager, Customer Experience Assistant, Laboratory Supervisor, and Innovation Director.

Key Objectives:

  • Brand and Reputation Management: Serve as a prominent representative of the Innovation Centre, promoting its offerings and enhancing its standing in the community.
  • Financial Stewardship: Maintain overall accountability for the centre's financial health, ensuring effective sales, marketing, and operational strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Partnership Development: Foster collaborative relationships with Oxford Innovation and key stakeholders, including property owners and service providers, to explore joint initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Deliver exceptional service to the Innovation Centre community, focusing on facilities management, support services, and staff development.

Main Duties:

Sales and Marketing:

  • Market available spaces within the centre under agreed commercial terms.
  • Engage potential clients through networking with key influencers and public sector representatives.
  • Promote revenue-generating products and services, including the onsite café.
  • Ensure comprehensive market exposure for the centre's offerings to maximize revenue.
  • Collaborate with the Oxford Innovation Space Marketing Team to create effective marketing materials.
  • Identify and implement local marketing strategies to enhance visibility.
  • Explore additional revenue opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Act as an ambassador for the centre, fostering a community spirit among clients.
  • Stay informed about clients' business needs and connect them with appropriate resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations.

Financial Management:

  • Provide detailed financial reports, including billing and revenue tracking.
  • Set financial targets and manage expenses within budgetary constraints.
  • Recommend strategies for operational cost savings.
  • Prepare annual budgets with insights on pricing and capital requirements.

Team Leadership:

  • Oversee a team of three staff members and any temporary personnel.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold standards for facility presentation, safety, and security.
  • Encourage a culture of quality service and customer care through feedback mechanisms.
  • Promote the centre's reputation for outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure that qualified staff are available to handle emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in surpassing sales targets and driving revenue in a similar operational environment.
