The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Design Engineer to join our Development Engineering group in R&D. As a key member of our team, you will work on designing and developing innovative solutions for our products and manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be essential in specifying and designing machines incorporating the latest process, inspection, and controls systems.

As a leader, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of a small team and provide developmental guidance and line management. Your technical expertise will be crucial in supporting the commissioning, characterisation, and optimisation of machines, as well as generating manuals and regulatory documentation to support UKCA/CE marking.

About You

To be successful, you will need a degree-level qualification in an Engineering discipline. A higher-level qualification (HNC/HND) alongside progressive work experience would also be considered. You will also need to demonstrate a proven track record and significant experience in automated production equipment design, working alone or as part of a team.

Expertise using 3D CAD coupled with a drawing management system is essential, with AutoDESK Inventor being preferred. Proven Project Management experience and exposure to leading or mentoring teams are also essential. The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is key, and you will need to demonstrate the ability to identify opportunities and propose ideas, as well as inspiring and nurturing these within your team.
