Your Responsibilities

In this role, your daily tasks may include:

  • Leading and managing the financial control and accounting team, which consists of 5 members, including 2 direct reports.
  • Collaborating closely with the FP&A team to provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial reports to the organization.
  • Taking ownership of the month-end closing process and preparing the management accounts pack with insightful commentary and analysis.
  • Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed promptly.
  • Overseeing monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
  • Delivering a clear and precise overview of cash flow and working capital needs through 13-week cash flow and long-term forecasting.
  • Leading the annual audit process in partnership with external advisors.
  • Consolidating and preparing statutory accounts.
  • Managing key processes, including transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, VAT/GST payments, and payroll.
  • Maintaining financial controls and processes, continuously striving for best practices.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of reporting in our financial systems, collaborating with Operations and Tech teams.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

What You Bring

The following skills will be beneficial in this position:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA preferred) with prior experience in a Financial Controller role.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and agile work environment.
  • Background in retail/FMCG is highly desirable, particularly during periods of growth.
  • A strong leader with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Proactive mindset with the capability to identify and implement necessary changes.
  • Familiarity with Netsuite is a plus.
  • Experience in systems development and process improvement.
