We are seeking a highly skilled Land Acquisition Specialist to join our Engineering Design & Consents Team within Large Capital Delivery (LCD). This team manages and delivers a diverse portfolio of capital projects, developing designs and consenting them through the design phase towards installation by our contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Securing, maintaining, and managing strategic land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines, and ground-mounted plant on both public and privately-owned land.
- Devising land consents strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and sustainably, managing asset risk in line with our network security obligations and requirements.
- Managing the preparation, negotiation, and successful acquisition of wayleaves, servitudes, land purchases, lease agreements, and access permissions across a portfolio of Large Capital Delivery projects.
- Assessment, negotiation, and successful settlement of related agreements, including compensation claims throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of relevant consents and experience in securing both voluntary and statutory consents for capital projects, with knowledge of associated environmental legislation desirable.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience working within a rural or land management setting, or utilizing and working with land agents as a contractor.
- Experience of working with and getting agreement from key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, and national agencies.
- A full, current driving license.
