BHSI is seeking a Property Risk Assessment Engineer to enhance our team. This role encompasses performing comprehensive account evaluations, conducting onsite assessments, and engaging in client and broker discussions to address various engineered risks, thereby supporting the General Property underwriting division. Collaborating closely with underwriters, this position is crucial for sustaining a robust portfolio through effective risk selection, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute detailed account evaluations and onsite assessments for underwriting objectives.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for the underwriting department.
  • Work in conjunction with the Global Engineering team to establish standards, guidelines, and technological advancements.
  • Engage in meetings with brokers and clients to strengthen relationships and provide value-added solutions.
  • Oversee quality assurance for survey reports and coordinate services for designated accounts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in field and/or account engineering.
  • Familiarity with various occupancy types, FM Data Sheets, NFPA codes, and EN standards.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Highly driven with excellent oral, presentation, and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for client and broker meetings as well as surveys.
  • Relevant industry certification is advantageous.
