The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electric Propulsion Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our air-breathing ion propulsion system. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for testing and optimizing the plasma propulsion system within our vacuum facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and test new iterations of the ion propulsion system
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers to ensure flawless operation
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in future design iterations
  • Manage the entire testing process and take ownership of the system
  • Prepare reports and effectively communicate results
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of spacecraft Electric propulsion systems
  • Previous practical experience in electric propulsion testing
  • Experience working with vacuum systems, power supplies, fluidic management systems, and data acquisition systems
  • Good technical understanding of plasma physics, modelling, and diagnostics
  • Skills in CAD modelling, electronics, and laboratory automation software
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is preferable
