Assistant Cost Manager

A prominent regulated infrastructure contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
The primary aim of this position is to address the commercial needs for a range of regional utilities enhancement and maintenance frameworks and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing cost estimation for various projects, including replacement, reinforcement, and diversion works.
- Preparing and delivering internal commercial reports on a monthly basis.
- Managing daily contract administration tasks, including change management.
- Negotiating and finalizing prices, change events, extensions of time claims, and final accounts within stipulated timelines.
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with contractors and senior stakeholders.
- Conducting monthly accruals and forecasts for the organization.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and changes.

Working in a dynamic multi-project environment, you will be responsible for delivering the commercial requirements of over 10 projects simultaneously.
Projects encompass a variety of upgrade works, including civil engineering and mechanical aspects, with values ranging from £100k to £3m.
All projects are executed under NEC forms of contract, primarily utilizing bespoke forms of NEC4 Option A & E.
Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor ready for a career transition. They are also interested in experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors seeking career advancement.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in any construction or civil engineering-related field.
A proven track record of interacting with, building, and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders is essential.
Experience with NEC contracts is desirable but not mandatory.
A relevant degree in quantity surveying or commercial management is preferred.
