About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Wellbeing: Create and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing within your team, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  2. Quality and Productivity: Analyze and implement changes to maintain high-quality and productivity levels, driving continuous improvement across our operations.
  3. Process Improvement: Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and increase the quality of service for our customers.
  4. Shift Performance: Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
  5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardize shift practices and drive consistency across our operations.
A Day in the Life

You will work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on owning and driving a culture of safety, upholding quality and shift performance standards. You will also oversee process improvements within your area and drive implementation.

About the Team

Our operations team is responsible for handling 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. A degree
  2. Relevant experience in people management
  3. Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership
  4. Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  5. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  2. Experience working in another logistics environment
  3. Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
