Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our team at Harborough Field Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in a care home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and visiting patients at home.
- Check and sign repeat prescriptions, test results, and deal with queries in a timely fashion.
- Work with electronic document management systems, including EMIS Web, ICE, and Choose and Book.
- Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Develop care plans for health and provide counselling and health education as needed.
- Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Collect data for audit purposes and quality purposes.
- Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary and generically whenever clinically appropriate.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. They will also have experience working in a care home setting and be familiar with electronic document management systems.
