Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Building team at Skanska UK Plc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for effectively planning, managing, coordinating, and monitoring construction projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all works are carried out in a planned, controlled, and safe manner in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards, and company health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Project Management: Manage trade contractors, including the production of working drawings, procurement, and prefabrication, and oversee subcontractors, labour, and material requirements for the contract. Provide regular written progress reports to monitor performance and highlight deficiencies at an early stage.
  • Site Management: Solve site problems, provide feedback to Senior Project Managers on defects or defaults found, and propose innovative ideas to alter current methodology.
  • Commercial: Implement correct commercial control of contractors within pre-set budgets, ensure contractual and claim correspondence is suitable, and action within agreed timescales.
  • Quality: Regularly inspect works for compliance with design and specifications, and ensure all design solutions offered by designers and sub-contractors fully comply with project requirements.
  • People Management: Manage construction supervisors, students, or trainees in the project team.
  • Hold a current Managers CSCS card and other relevant qualifications, including SMSTS.
  • Have previous experience in working and managing commercial office construction projects.
  • Have previous experience of managing multiple trade contractors, including MEP.
  • Have experience in facilitating Collaborative Planning and coordination sessions between Trade Contractors.
  • Have experience in programme management, including Planned vs Actual dashboards.
  • Have experience in quality management.
  • Have experience in civil and structural works, including demolition, groundworks, reinforced concrete, and steel erection.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and the ability to ensure high-quality works are achieved at all times.
  • Have experience in package management, managing packages to a value of £20 million.
