About the Role

This is a hybrid role, allowing remote working and/or working from our studio in Essex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Vision and Roadmap

Define the technical vision and plan its technical roadmap, working closely with other department leads to ensure alignment and success.

Team Management

Assign tasks to the programming team, setting reasonable deadlines and providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.

Code Review and Optimization

Provide technical oversight by planning and reviewing code, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize performance.

System and Tool Development

Design, implement, and maintain systems and tools to support both gameplay and development, ensuring they are well-structured, maintainable, and highly functional.

Mentorship and Team Performance

Mentor, motivate, and guide the programming team, managing team performance and providing regular feedback and coaching to ensure individual and team success.

Requirements
  • Industry Experience

Significant industry experience, including meaningful time spent demonstrating technical leadership and expertise in C#.

Game Technology Expertise

Expertise in game technology, including Unity Engine proficiency, and a good understanding of software architecture and design.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with all disciplines, break down complex issues for various audiences, and provide regular project updates to the CTO.

Team Management

Experience working with small to medium-sized teams and a proven track record of managing team performance and delivering successful projects.
