About the Role

OCS Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Domestic Cleaning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cleaning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our healthcare facilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out all cleaning duties as required by your line manager and in accordance with the work schedule for your area.
  • Perform cleaning tasks in a professional manner and strive to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with NHS cleaning standards or equivalent.
  • Dusting, vacuuming, and washing down all areas, including offices, toilets, bathrooms, shower rooms, and basins.
  • Replenishing soaps, hand towels, and toilet paper, and emptying and cleaning waste bins.
  • Cleaning clinical areas, therapy rooms, corridors, and bedrooms (where applicable).
  • Removing curtains to allow trust staff to launder.
  • Being courteous to staff, visitors, service users, and team members.
  • Taking responsibility for all consumables, equipment, and machinery used.
  • Ensuring you are present in your place of work at all times.
  • Developing a good knowledge of the unit you are working in to enable efficient working practices.
  • Understanding the unit's working pattern to avoid conflicts.
  • Upholding the company's core values at all times.
  • Attending all training courses as required by the company.
  • Complying with all company policies, procedures, and training at all times.
  • Complying with uniform policy, including plain, closed-toe shoes.
  • Maintaining company, patient, and client confidentiality at all times.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable request from the company.

Requirements

  • Cleaning experience within a healthcare environment is desired but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Maintaining personal appearance and presentation, including uniform, at a high standard at all times.
  • High standards of personal hygiene are expected and required at all times.
  • The ability to follow policy and procedure.
  • The willingness to bring concerns to corporate attention via prescribed channels.
