Role Overview:

As a Vocational Tutor, you will have the opportunity to support learners in developing their knowledge and skills, helping them access appropriate training and employment opportunities. This role involves teaching Employability, Customer Service, and Warehousing and Storage to learners aged 16 to 19 (up to 24 with an EHCP). You will be supported by the Curriculum and Learning Lead, who is responsible for driving quality, meeting KPIs, and fostering continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Employability, Customer Service, and Warehousing and Storage
  • Leading the production of schemes of work for service delivery
  • Preparing and developing innovative lesson plans, group activities, and individualized instruction
  • Providing one-to-one support to learners when necessary
  • Helping learners achieve their goals through tailored support

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A professional qualification relevant to the area of instruction (L3 or above) within Health and Social Care, Management, or similar
  • A relevant teaching qualification (Degree, PGCE, or equivalent)
  • Experience of teaching in an alternative provision environment or experience with EAL, SEN, or other complex needs
  • Experience working with disengaged or hard-to-reach young people aged 14 to 19 years old
  • The ability to motivate and encourage learners with high expectations of behavior and achievement
