Warehouse Operative - Defence Sector

We are seeking a committed Warehouse Operative to facilitate the efficient operation of our logistics within the Defence sector on a full-time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week. Here’s an overview of your potential shift patterns: Variable shifts. Please note: This role is contracted for 2 weeks per year.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:
  • Adhering to all client and company health and safety protocols at all times, including Food Handling, COSHH, uniforms & PPE, Manual Handling, Fire procedures, and Quality control
  • Completing, maintaining, and updating all Food Safety and Health & Safety documentation as required
  • Ensuring cleanliness in all kitchens, storerooms, fridges, and surrounding work areas, reporting any health and safety hazards or incidents promptly
  • Managing the proper storage, control, and usage of all machinery, cleaning supplies, and relevant chemicals
  • Overseeing the control, issuance, and receipt of all food deliveries
  • Processing orders through designated systems and utilizing approved vendors
  • Verifying invoices and delivery notes, reporting any discrepancies to your supervisor
  • Supervising the receipt, proper storage, and quality assurance of food supplies, raising any concerns with your supervisor
  • Unloading deliveries and rotating stock effectively
  • Loading cages and transporting stock to various storerooms

Our ideal Warehouse Operative will:
  • Conduct regular stock assessments
  • Oversee and manage all incoming deliveries
  • Store and rotate goods appropriately
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding shortages
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated outlets
