About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Loungers. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Develop and implement kitchen standards and procedures to maintain high-quality food and service
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute menus, specials, and promotions
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize profitability
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Monitor and control labor costs, inventory, and waste to optimize kitchen efficiency

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, including inventory management, stock control, and labor scheduling
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
