The Role:
In the capacity of our Gas Compliance and Repairs Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily management of Gas Compliance, Service, Repair, and Maintenance contracts, ensuring adherence to an agreed schedule, budget, and quality standards aligned with the company's operational objectives.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Managing all facets of gas service, maintenance, and repair contracts under your purview, taking full responsibility for the successful operational execution of various work streams (including gas, responsive repairs, and planned maintenance programs).
- Ensuring 100% gas compliance at all times.
- Leading supervisors, lead engineers, gas engineers, and administrative staff to deliver consistent, high-quality, customer-focused services that meet the company's strategic goals.
- Managing staff in accordance with HR policies, ensuring timely advice from the HR Department.
- Maintaining the efficiency and reputation of the repairs and maintenance services with our customers and stakeholders.
- Ensuring the accuracy of cost information related to projects and risk events, and effectively recovering all claims/costs incurred.
- Assisting the Operations Director in developing and implementing supplier performance and contract management strategies.
- Driving efficiency savings for Aston Group through a strategic supplier performance approach and collaborating closely with the Operations Director to manage expenditures.
- Coordinating with supervisors to facilitate the onboarding of new employees, ensuring proper induction, checking qualifications, and identifying training needs with the HR Manager.
- Providing timely and accurate reports on all project aspects, including the production of monthly statistical and qualitative information regarding KPIs and progress against targets and budgets.
The Candidate:
Qualifications:
- Ideally, you should possess an HND qualification and demonstrate a commitment to continuous personal development within the gas industry.
- A full clean driving license is required.
- ACS/Gas Safe certification with relevant experience is essential.
Experience:
- Proven experience in leadership, motivation, and team engagement.
- Previous accountability for Gas Compliance delivery.
- A solid understanding of business operations, including ICT, Finance, Governance, Health & Safety, and Diversity.
- Experience in managing change processes.
- Proficiency in negotiation with clients, customers, and workforce.
- Managerial experience at the Supervisor/Management level.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, relationship management, and emotional intelligence.
- Understanding the importance of staff development and coaching to unlock potential and manage talent.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills, with the ability to evaluate and articulate risks and benefits of various scenarios.
