About Us

Join Birmingham Children's Trust during a pivotal moment as we proudly celebrate our GOOD Ofsted rating. We are the foremost provider of family support and social care services for children, young people, and families across the nation. Our ambition is to evolve into a center of excellence in social care and family support.

By becoming part of our team, you will engage in a supportive and dynamic environment, contributing to our journey towards service improvement and excellence.

Professional Development

Working with us offers a unique opportunity to gain a diverse range of professional experiences and exceptional development. You will manage a reasonable caseload, supported by robust management and professional networks.

Our organization’s size allows for comprehensive career development within the Trust, enabling you to enhance your existing skills and advance your social work practice.

Your Role

As a Lead Social Care Practitioner, you will be empowered to perform the role you envisioned when entering the field of social work. Our independent status allows us to focus solely on the safety and welfare of children and young people in our community, while also prioritizing your well-being.

You will operate within a relationship-based, trauma-informed, family-led practice model. Your expertise will be crucial in making informed decisions and conducting thorough assessments, while actively participating in multi-agency meetings.

Candidate Profile

We seek a passionate, motivated, and dedicated Lead Social Care Practitioner who has successfully completed their ASYE and possesses valuable experience in Children Services.

You should be adept at building effective relationships, conducting comprehensive assessments, and collaborating with children, families, and professionals to ensure their full involvement in assessment, planning, review, and decision-making processes.

Independence and teamwork are essential; you will support less experienced social workers and students within your team.

A recognized social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England are required.

Our Commitment

We recognize the challenges of being a social worker, which is why we offer an attractive employment package and excellent benefits.

In addition to regular supervision and access to training, we provide mental health and well-being support, competitive rewards, a generous annual leave package (30 days plus bank holidays), a 'Golden Hello', and a retention payment from day one for the first two years of service, among other benefits.

If you are committed to continuous improvement and wish to be part of a dedicated social work team, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.
