We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead our welding training initiatives. The primary aim of this role is to provide exceptional welding education programs that empower students, apprentices, and employees with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the welding sector.
In this position, you will ensure that all training complies with industry standards and safety protocols while creating a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate both theoretical and practical welding training sessions.
- Assess trainees' skills through evaluations and hands-on practical tests.
- Set up and maintain welding equipment for effective training.
- Monitor and document the progress and attendance of trainees.
- Offer constructive feedback and guidance to trainees.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment.
- Develop and implement detailed training modules covering various welding techniques and safety measures.
- Conduct regular skill assessments to evaluate trainees' welding capabilities, providing constructive feedback and additional assistance as needed.
- Ensure all welding tools and equipment are well-maintained and operational.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in welding technology and industry best practices to enhance training programs.
- Prepare training schedules and maintain accurate records of trainees' development and documentation.
- Collaborate with fellow trainers and staff to promote continuous improvement in training offerings.
- Uphold the company's values and behaviors, fostering a culture of integrity, respect, and excellence among trainees.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Certified Welder with recognized credentials (e.g., AWS or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in welding, with expertise in techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding.
- Previous experience in training or educational roles is highly advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong grasp of welding safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teaching and feedback.
- Ability to create a nurturing and encouraging learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills for managing training schedules, records, and equipment.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with other trainers and staff.
Desirable Attributes:
- Assessor Award – A1 or AQA, or willingness to pursue.
- Familiarity with current Apprentice standards.
Personal Skills & Attributes:
- Meticulous in ensuring training quality and safety standards are upheld.
- Adaptable in modifying training approaches to suit diverse learning styles and staying informed about industry developments.
- Supportive of trainees at various skill levels, promoting a positive educational environment.
- Proactive in enhancing training programs and addressing challenges promptly.
- Consistently dependable in fulfilling training duties and maintaining equipment.
