As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Shift Engineers. This role requires a strong focus on hands-on management, prioritization, and driving continuous improvement across the site. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of Engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Develop and implement engineering best practices, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, ensuring clear communication of goals, progress, and challenges.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, Quality, H&S)
- Resolve technical issues as they arise, providing clear feedback
- Organise spare parts and repairs utilising the emergency contacts for any out of hours issues.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, productivity and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Qualified and Experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with minimum of 15 years' experience (Mechanical or Electrical bias)
- Strong background in manufacturing with plastics industry experience desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing engineers.
- IOSH qualification is desirable but not essential

This is a permanent role working hours will be av.42.8hrs a week, on a continental 4on-4off shift pattern rolling days (0600 – 1800) & nights (1800 – 0600). On occasion you may need to work additional hours to adapt to business needs.
