We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Risk Management Associate to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Shared Service Centre, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of risk across our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake internal quality assurance reviews to confirm that all appropriate onboarding due diligence has been carried out, following the approval and opening of a new project code on our management systems.
- Deal with internal queries from client/project teams and SSC teams on our AML guidance and how it should be applied following the identification of unsatisfactory outputs from internal reviews.
- Support the BAU team with ad hoc projects for standard due diligence/enhanced due diligence and the research teams, as requested by the ATE QA Team Lead and Economic Crime Team.
- Evaluate and escalate more complex matters to the AML QA Team Lead and/or the firm's Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Economic Crime Team as required.
- Share knowledge and expertise through supporting the standard due diligence/enhanced due diligence and research hubs.
- Collaborate with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and the Economic Crime Team to stay well-informed on KYC/AML approaches, along with changes in regulations and techniques.
- Knowledge and experience of the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, and the implementation/application of these regulations in real-world scenarios.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet research.
- Experience and knowledge of heightening risk factors within AML/KYC, and appropriate mitigating points.
- Ability to use own initiative and take a risk-based approach.
- Good telephone manner.
