Role Overview: This position will engage with the three charitable entities under the Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation: Guy's & St Thomas' Charity, Evelina London Children's Charity, and Guy's Cancer Charity.
Key Responsibilities:
Working collaboratively with managers and officers from each charity, the Charity Program Coordinator will enhance the capacity and resilience of the compact, high-performing team across four primary domains:
- Grant Management: Collaborate closely with Funding Managers for each charity to provide comprehensive support throughout the entire grant-making process, including the conception and execution of projects of varying sizes and scopes that yield significant impact across the Foundation.
- Evaluation and Learning: Assist in the reporting and evaluation processes to better comprehend the impact of our funding, partnering with the Evaluation & Learning Lead to implement the evaluation and learning strategy effectively.
- Project Development: Work in conjunction with Funding Managers and colleagues from Trust and Fundraising to create compelling content and proposals for fundraising initiatives based on projects in the development pipeline.
- Project Management: Deliver focused project management within the team to facilitate the execution of cross-team projects and the delivery of strategically important and complex funded initiatives across the three charities.
Grant Development and Delivery:
- Proactively cultivate and oversee a pipeline of funding proposals, collaborating with Trust colleagues to support the development of innovative ideas and high-quality submissions.
- Assist in the creation and execution of funding streams and opportunities that align with the Trust's needs, aiming to attract impactful projects from a diverse range of staff.
- Engage with grant holders to support project implementation, participating in steering groups or providing advice on challenges faced to ensure effective delivery.
Reporting and Insights:
- Guide and support grant holders on reporting obligations, regularly analyzing the reports received to synthesize learning, data, and progress into accessible content for communications and fundraising teams, as well as internally within the Funding Team.
- Compile and disseminate reports to relevant internal departments and Trust forums, gathering high-quality data to derive insights that identify opportunities for increased charitable spending.
Additional Responsibilities:
Occasionally, take on supplementary duties related to individual charities to provide coverage for Funding Managers and contribute to the operational and strategic advancement of our charitable initiatives, including overarching and corporate projects.
Candidate Profile:
- Possess strong project management and analytical capabilities, demonstrating ambition, curiosity, and determination to achieve high standards through a culture of constructive feedback.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of organizational dynamics, including business planning, financial reporting, performance management, and governance.
- Focus on outcomes with the tenacity to achieve them, employing clear thinking to dissect problems into manageable components, supported by meaningful data to develop comprehensive solutions.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and an understanding of the unique role of charitable funding compared to standard NHS practices.
- Possess knowledge of healthcare developments and NHS priorities, with potential experience in consultancy or professional services, and familiarity with service/business development and user-focused approaches.
