About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our team at Newington Surgery.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and close-knit clinical team, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of new efficient and effective procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs.
  • Conduct cytology, removal of sutures, travel clinic services, ECGs, asthma/peak flow readings/spirometry, venepuncture, ear syringing, routine immunizations/childhood immunisations, and chaperoning patients.
  • Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings, request pathology tests, and maintain and clean equipment used by nurses and GPs.
  • Maintain GP and Nurses rooms, stock and rotate items as required, and maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
  • Order health promotion literature, vaccinations, and stock from the District Hospital, and participate in administrative systems in the Practice.
  • At all times, maintain accurate records and advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.
Person Specification
  • You must be registered with the NMC with a valid pin.
  • Experience in LTC management is essential.
