We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Apprentice to join our team at Curtiss-Wright Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of specific professional engineering tasks of an analysis, design, or test nature.
Key Responsibilities- Participate on project teams as required and receive guidance and instruction from more experienced engineers and/or supervisor when working in more complex areas.
- Perform site layout design of aircraft system installations, including foundation design for aircraft arresting system installations, below and above grade.
- Determine loads of aircraft arrestments related to civil infrastructure.
- Coordinate with project manager and customer to ensure successful project execution.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
- May research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- May specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Design test control apparatus and equipment and develop procedures for testing products.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering design, including earth and ground conditions, reinforced concrete, excavation, grading, and environmental requirements.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, with knowledge of 3D civil modeling preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, with international code and standards knowledge beneficial.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate in Civil Engineering preferred.
