Risk Management Director

M&R Talent Ltd is seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer to provide second-line assurance to the group for all risk management-related topics.
This role is instrumental in ensuring a risk management system and governance culture are adhered to in the group to manage all risks within the framework of the risk appetite defined by the Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for the Internal Control System, including risk and control assessment and reporting across all in-scope processes, carried out primarily in accordance with the UK regulators and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the CFO and Board of Directors on the firm's risk exposures relative to its risk appetite and tolerance.
- Assessing the extent to which the risks of the business strategy and plans are consistent with the risk appetite of the management body.
- Informing the Board of Directors of the company if the business strategies or plans exceed the company's risk appetite and tolerance.
- Ensuring that the data used by the firm to assess its risks are fit for purpose in terms of quality, quantity, and breadth.
- Providing oversight and challenge of the firm's systems and controls in respect of risk management.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, with experience in providing second-line assurance to a group or organization. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and provide recommendations to the Board of Directors.
