Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale F: £23,208 to £25,271 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (£26,421 - £28,770 full time/full year equivalent)
Working Hours: Term Time plus 1 week (39 weeks)
Job SummaryWe are seeking an exceptional Assistant Head of Year to join our team at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pastoral and behavioural support to students in their designated year group, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students in their designated year group, including identifying and addressing any issues that may impact their learning.
- Work closely with the Head of Year, tutors, and teaching staff to ensure students are ready to learn and equipped to achieve their best.
- Lead the safeguarding of children within the school, working under the direction of the Safeguarding Manager.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student behaviour and attendance, in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to student support and well-being.
- GCSE English and Maths
- Ability to make informed decisions, identify and solve problems based on thorough analysis and sound judgement.
- Ability to implement the school's ethos and values in all aspects of their work.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to engage positively with and build relationships with a wide range of students, parents, and staff.
