About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Lignacite. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our concrete block manufacturing equipment and site.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  2. Improve and maintain production processes or services within buildings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  3. Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  4. Develop, test, and evaluate theoretical designs to improve existing processes and systems.
  5. Discuss and resolve complex problems with manufacturing areas, providing expert technical guidance and support.
  6. Liaise with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  7. Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  8. Plan and design new production processes, considering factors such as cost, safety, and time restraints.
  9. Produce detailed specifications and designs for new equipment and systems.
  10. Monitor and commission plant and systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.
  11. Ensure all engineering works are carried out in accordance with company legislation and policies.
  12. Carry out risk assessments for all engineering works as required, ensuring a safe working environment.
  13. Support and mentor junior engineers as required, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Electrical installations or equivalent experience.
  • Testing and inspection expertise, including 18th Edition and Portable Appliance Testing 2377.
  • IEE Wiring Regulations knowledge.
  • PLC fault finding competence.
  • Welding NVQ 1782 or equivalent.
