  • This position is located within a key operational hub.
  • The compensation for this role is £14.00 per hour, with an additional shift premium of 20%. The annual salary range will be from £25,071 to £31,700, inclusive of the shift premium.
  • This role entails a commitment of 42.5 hours per week, following a shift pattern of 14 shifts of 12.5 hours each within a 28-day cycle, including both day and night shifts.

About the Position:

As a vital member of the Engineering Team, Building Fabric Specialists assist both operational and technical teams by executing planned, reactive, remedial, and enhancement tasks.

Maintaining building fabric and delivering value-added modifications are crucial for the evolving automated environment; performing this work internally with skilled colleagues supports the engineering objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering internal planned maintenance, reactive and remedial tasks, including involvement in project activities, minimizing reliance on external contractors in a 24-hour operational environment where service level agreements are critical. A willingness to acquire new skills related to asset maintenance and repairs, including inspection processes, record-keeping, plumbing, painting, and external site upkeep.

Achieving first-fix resolutions on building fabric, fixtures, and equipment while supporting the Engineering Technician team, demonstrating the following competencies: executing change-work within agreed hours, utilizing IT systems for task management, maintaining effective communication with Engineering Shift Managers, and promptly resolving operational challenges.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Solid vocational background with demonstrable construction or engineering experience.
  • A thorough understanding of Health & Safety regulations in commercial and industrial settings is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship (CITB, CGLI, or equivalent).
  • CSCS certification.
  • IPAF & PASMA certification, with training in Working at Height.
  • First-Aid certification.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualifications.
