Job Title: Database and BI Developer

We are seeking a skilled Database and BI Developer to join our Data & BI team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing databases, data warehouses, data pipelines, and business intelligence systems to maximize the value of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize SQL Server databases for reliable access and excellent performance.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, backup, disaster recovery, and availability of data systems.
  • Develop and maintain existing BI solutions using SSRS, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Collaborate with business areas to design, develop, and deploy data products as needed.
  • Oversee data integration across firm-wide systems to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Document the data architecture and environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture.
  • Act as a technical lead or resource on project work as required.
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
  • Establish end-user database access control levels and perform database security audits.
  • Leverage Microsoft cloud services (Azure, Power Platform, Fabric) for data solution delivery.
Requirements
  • Strong SQL Server experience, including TSQL and performance tuning.
  • Experience building BI solutions and dashboards using reporting and visualization tools.
  • ETL experience, including Microsoft SSIS, Power Platform, Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.
  • Previous legal experience, especially knowledge of Aderant PMS and Intapp products.
  • Ability to build relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a self-starter mentality.
  • Innovative and flexible with a strong customer service ethic.
  • Confident manner and personal impact to command respect from peers and colleagues.
  • Energy and enthusiasm to manage new initiatives.
Working Arrangements

Farrer & Co operates an agile working framework, with a minimum expectation of 40% of working hours spent in the office. On-site or remote evening and weekend working may be required for system maintenance and support.
