Job Overview

At Prospero Teaching, we are seeking dedicated tutors with a background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-on-one basis. Our goal is to find an inspiring and engaging educator who can assist those whose learning requirements may differ from traditional educational settings.


The ideal candidate will possess qualities such as patience and empathy, along with the ability to design and implement tailored learning plans for individual students. A therapeutic approach may be beneficial to effectively support learners with SEN. The primary objective is to provide structure in the students' daily routines while fostering their educational growth in various forms.


This tutoring role serves as an alternative to conventional schooling for these young individuals and typically involves part-time hours during regular school times, five days a week. Prospero Teaching will collaborate closely with you to track each student's progress through weekly reports.


Position Details:


- Location: Within Darlington and surrounding areas
- Role: SEN Tutor
- Compensation: GBP25 - GBP30 per hour based on experience and qualifications
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate both your needs and those of the student


Candidate Requirements:


- Must hold QTS or an equivalent qualification
- Previous UK classroom teaching experience is essential
- Creative, patient, and able to think innovatively
- Experience working with SEND or disengaged students is preferred


Additional Requirements:


- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one
- References covering the last two years of employment are required
