Join LANXESS UK as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician.

Position Overview

As a vital member of our technical team, you will report directly to the EC&I Engineer. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure maintenance compliance and assist in the calibration and testing of electrical systems. This role is structured around weekdays, with some flexibility required for occasional weekend shifts to support the operational team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all assigned maintenance tasks and inspections to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and site maintenance protocols.
  • Create risk assessments and method statements for tasks undertaken.
  • Identify and resolve issues within low voltage electrical systems as necessary, while supporting the maintenance and testing of site electrical systems.
  • Deliver expert support on process plant instrumentation, including troubleshooting, calibration, and testing.
  • Assist the EC&I Engineer and planner in all work control and planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and actively participate in their implementation.
  • Provide support for commissioning new installations on site.

Candidate Profile:

  • Completion of a trade apprenticeship, complemented by an HNC in electrical or EC&I or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a process plant environment, preferably within a COMAH site.
  • Familiarity with engineering protocols and procedures.
  • Understanding of high and low voltage systems and distributed control systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety regulations and standards.
  • Trained in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP S4/Hanna for asset management is advantageous.
