We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) in South Glos. The successful candidate will join our 3rd Wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapy stream, working with complex psychological therapy delivery. We welcome applicants with an interest in working with psychosis, bipolar, and other affective difficulties. Opportunities for training and CPD will be available to support the development of competencies and expertise in working with psychosis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies. BABCP accreditation is advantageous in this post. The post holder will be required to work on Tuesdays and Fridays to meet the multifaceted needs of the service.
Our service comprises a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, Art Therapists, OTs, Social Workers, Nurses, and Medical Psychotherapists. We place emphasis on providing evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, MBT, Psychodynamic Therapies, Family Therapy, EMDR, Music and Art therapy, to meet the diverse needs of our service users, families, and carers. We are committed to addressing issues of structural inequalities and oppression that create barriers in the provision of equitable care for our service user groups.
Main Duties of the Job- The main focus of the clinical work for this post will be delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and integrative therapy on an individual, group, and family basis. Day-to-day work involves psychological assessments, setting up and delivering therapy groups and individual therapy, working closely with Recovery colleagues, offering consultation and supervision, and taking part in CBT team supervision.
- The post holder will work closely with referrers, services, and colleagues to collaborate around the delivery of psychological interventions.
- The role offers opportunities for teaching, training, and supervision of multidisciplinary team members, including psychology trainees, assistant psychologists, and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners.
- The role also offers opportunities for service evaluation and audit.
