About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Tops Day Nurseries. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our nurseries comply with all health and safety regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained across our nurseries.
  • Update and review the Health and Safety manual, as well as other related policies, to reflect the latest legal requirements and best practices.
  • Work closely with Health and Safety Leads and Managers to maintain safe systems of work and implement best practice.
  • Analyse accidents and identify trends within health and safety data, including RIDDOR.
  • Liaise and report as needed with outside agencies such as HSE and Public Health.
  • Monitor compulsory health and safety certificates and ensure inspections are carried out.
  • Provide support with all aspects of health and safety as required.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification or equivalent in Health and Safety.
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally within the childcare, education, or similar sectors.
  • Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate staff at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to health and safety challenges.
