Interim Principal Planning Officer

We are assisting a Local Authority in Surrey with an interim Principal Planning Officer to support their Development Management team.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of major applications, including significant PPA schemes. You will also be required to attend Planning Committee meetings on an occasional basis.

This is a temporary contract, initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension. The Council offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £45, inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of major applications, including significant PPA schemes
  • Attend Planning Committee meetings on an occasional basis
  • Work closely with the Development Management team to ensure effective delivery of planning services

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in planning and development management
  • Strong knowledge of planning policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
