Ecological Consultant

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the environment? We're seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team at CleanTech Talent.

About the Role:

  • Conduct ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and habitat assessments, to inform project decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive ecological reports, such as Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, to ensure projects meet environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with landscape planning and arboriculture teams to deliver integrated project solutions that balance environmental and business needs.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and effective communication.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
  • Proven experience in conducting and leading ecological surveys.
  • Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG.
  • Desired experience using GIS to produce accurate digital outputs.
  • Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
