Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Industrial Chemist to support our manufacturing, quality control, research, and regulatory activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and specifying new or alternate raw materials, managing internal non-conformances, and providing technical support to company personnel and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation and specification of new or alternate raw materials for new and existing products.
  • Manage internal non-conformances such as finished good or raw material deficiencies.
  • Author and maintain bills of material and manufacturing instructions as required.
  • Author and maintain QC testing procedures and equipment calibration methods.
  • Provide technical support to company personnel and customers.
  • Develop new and modify existing chemical product formulations.
  • Help resolve customer queries involving product quality.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between the UK facility and the other Magnaflux manufacturing facilities globally.
  • Assist with the management of the ERP system (formula entry, etc.).
  • Help ensure product and facility compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage raw material SDSs and PPE requirements for the facility.
  • Evaluate competitive products as a means of assessing comparative advantages and disadvantages of the current product line.
  • Provide assistance with various chemical production activities not otherwise specified.
  • Attend industry and association meetings as assigned.
  • Abide by all Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean workspace within the lab area.

Requirements

  • Chemistry, chemical engineering, or science-related field required.
  • 1-3 years of chemistry experience required; experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Chemical formulation experience a benefit, but not essential.
  • European regulatory experience a benefit, but not essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Familiar with analytical methods and other instrumentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • High level of accuracy in work and ability to analyze and report data.
  • Ability to complete mathematical calculations.
  • Demonstrated experience of troubleshooting production and laboratory issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
